The Betty Street Lodge is a 1950′s cabin located in a quiet neighborhood off the main roads. It is a complete house offering 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a fully furnished kitchen and livingroom with wood burning fireplace. The Yellow House Inn consists of 3 separate units; 2 – 1 bedroom units with kitchenettes and living areas. One will accommodate up to 4 guests and the other up to 6 guests. The larger unit consists of 2 bedrooms and 2 baths and a lock-off with an additional bedroom and bath. Combined this unit can accommodate up to 10 guests. This unit also includes a completely furnished kitchen, dining room and living room with wood burning fireplace.  With the various sizes of the units and the ability to lock-off selected rooms, The Yellow House can accommodate parties from 1 to 10 guests. The location is another plus.  It’s  located right on Hwy 2 approx. ½ mile from Navitat and only 3 miles from Mt. High Ski Resort.

Who wouldn’t want to make a living while ziplining past an incredible view of the San Benardino Mountains and the Mojave Desert everyday?

Training for the highly sought after position of Navitat Zipline Canopy Guide is now in progress! In fact, zipline guide training has been going on since February as Navitat will be opening on March 23^rd for an amazing 2013 season!

Yes, being a zipline guide is exciting indeed, but it also requires an extensive amount of training. (In addition to the basic prequalifying skills of first aid and cpr.) In fact, Navitat canopy guides go through a rigorous 70 hour training program developed by our team of zipline industry experts. The training includes both technical safety/rescue training and environmental education training. The latter is developed by our fulltime master’s level ecologist on staff. It may sound like a lot and it is, but our guides do this because they love it and just like any other job, being prepared is everything.

We know what you must be thinking. 70 hours of safety training?! Does that mean ziplining is dangerous? Well here’s the answer. We at Navitat do everything we can to minimize risk for our guests. It wouldn’t be a thrill without a little risk involved but our guests can rest assured because our zipline canopy guides are more than prepared for every scenario, even outrageous ones. The truth is, our guides learn skills they may never need to use, but they practice them nonetheless. Also, a zipline guide at Navitat is required to log 3 additional training hours every month of the season so that all skills can remain fresh and top of mind.

Many of our zipline guides think the really fun and exciting part of training is actually the environmental education. Not to worry, there is certainly no script that our guides follow and they won’t be spouting out random facts to you throughout your tour. They simply are trained to retain a healthy knowledge about the surrounding environment including the local trees, flora and fauna, the physical and cultural history of the site itself, edible vs poisonous plants, forest sustainability practices, and effective ways to communicate with our guests. This training helps to ensure that each guest comes away knowing something about the forest that they didn’t know when they arrived.

All that being said, our guides will be ready to take you on the best zipline canopy tour you could dream of beginning March 23^rd!

What’s the first thing almost everyone asks when they come on a Navitat tour? It’s “How the heck did you hang these zipline cables?” This question requires a long answer (the truth is building a zipline canopy tour is no small feat!) The short answer is that Navitat works with our SUPER DUPER AWESOME sister company, Bonsai Design, for the design and construction of our courses.

From Los Angeles, a scenic drive up the Angeles Crest Highway (or good ol’ Interstate 15 to Highway 138) will take you to the beautiful, secluded little town of Wrightwood — the home of Navitat Canopy Adventures. So close to LA, we know it’s a bit of an unexpected surprise to find big trees, amazing views, and, yes… a world-class zipline canopy tour in the San Gabriel Mountains. But it’s true. Seeing is believing! And as Navitat’s zipline tour is making waves throughout Southern California, we’re proud to say that even high-speed-lovin’, motorcyle-ridin’, thill-seeker kinda guys find ziplining at Navitat to be, well… a good enough excuse to play hooky, hop on a dirt bike and head for the hills.

The October 2012 issue of AAA’s Westways magazine came as a surprise to us at Navitat Wrightwood! Though we were aware that a reporter for the publication had joined us on a zipline canopy tour earlier in the season (and she, by all accounts, had a great time), we had no idea that we would land the October cover and therefore end up in millions of mailboxes throughout Southern California.

Included in a collection of articles called, “I Don’t Want to Grow Up!”, Westways identified Navitat Wrightwood as the perfect place to “take you well beyond your backyard oak-climbing days and into bird-perch country.” We couldn’t agree more! Since publication, hundreds of Westways readers have already made their way to Wrightwood to zipline at Navitat.

It seems the word is officially OUT… a world-class zipline canopy tour is hidden in the San Gabriel Mountains just outside of Los Angeles, and we’re having a load of fun up here! We know… who’da thunk it?! Adventure, thrills, and the opportunity to experience trees from a brand new perspective… all so very close to one of the biggest, craziest cities in the US. It’s a little “outside of the box,” we know… but that’s just kinda how we do things around here.

We at Navitat Canopy Adventures in Wrightwood, California, have heard that you’ve been “hanging out” on ziplines at the Olympics lately, and we are quite impressed with both your ziplining style and composure on the line. It seems you have taken a few notes from our most beloved guest, Geico’s Maxwell the Ziplining Pig. Is he the one who gave you the idea of joyfully waving flags in the wind as you traversed through the sky? We must admit that the similarities in your ziplining form are uncanny!

In the spirit of the Olympics, and as you expand your budding role as International Ambassador of Adventure (for Politicians in Trousers), we’d like to formally extend an invitation to Navitat Canopy Adventures where the ziplines reach speeds worthy of the true Olympian that you have proven to be. Fear not, good sir, if you should get stuck in the middle of one of our ziplines, the views will prove far grander and ne’er shall you have need to call for a rope. We shall be humbly at your service.
