How does ziplining in NC compare with ziplining in CA?
During our opening week here at Navitat Wrightwood, we were lucky enough to be visited by a guest that has also zip lined at our Navitat Asheville location. Although a lot of us on staff have zipped both locations, it’s rare that we get to hear a guest perspective on the differences between the two courses. The guest’s name is Maddison, and we asked him to say a few words about his experience zipping BOTH courses. Below is a photo of Maddison’s Group and below the photo you can read what Maddison had to say….
“I’ve been to Navitat Asheville in the summer of 2011 several times and plan on going back at least 4 or 5 more times this summer (As I live in Asheville). The Wrightwood CA course is a vastly different course from Asheville; with massive trees, steep terrain and more thrilling zips that leave you in awe of the extreme tranquil silence which leaves only the wooded sound of massive trees healthily crackling in the wind all whilst you sit on the very top of the canopy. The Wrightwood Location offers a great glimpse of the vast Angeles National Forests’ extreme environment by allowing visitors to get a birds eye look at the untouched forest floor from the vertigo inspiring trees. Wrightwood is a more intense course than Asheville due to the higher heights and the longer zips. One key element I noticed about the course at Wrightwood is how the temperature varies so greatly as you ascend and descend on the course, you get to taste the cool mountain air on some zips and breathe the warm desert updraft on others. Wrightwood is NOT for anyone with a fear of heights, at times you are on platforms that sit on the very top of the tree. I also have never been zipping on a course that the platforms are wrapped around gigantic Christmas trees with pine-needles that taste of Tangerines. The Asheville course is a much more cozy, rain forest like course as you fly closer to the ground and in parts through tunnels of foliage. I told Amy and Kevin (our fantastic guides on the tour), that the Zip line is almost like riding in the same car but driving through a different state, the two courses’ scenery are very very different from each other. I would recommend that any thrill seeker try BOTH courses.”- Maddison
There you have it folks. The verdict is …. BOTH courses are awesome! So, why not zip both?
For those of you here in SoCal that aren’t chomping at the bit to buy a plane ticket to go across the country, well, you’re in luck. We’re giving away a FREE trip to the Beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Asheville, NC to stay, play and go ziplining at our original Navitat Location. Trust us, the trip will be awesome. Did I mention that Asheville, NC was voted Beer City, USA due to all the AMAZING microbreweries? Not to mention the delicious food, the gorgeous views, white water rafting, a plethora of art, and of course, NAVITAT!
