We care about what we do. And what we "do" is all focused on trees. We build in trees, we play in trees, we explore trees in fun and unique ways. And so, naturally, we believe we ought to care for them—deeply. And we do. The giants of the forest have extraordinary stories to tell, and we simply want to serve as interpreters.
From the start, Navitat set out to become the very definition of environmental stewardship within our industry. In a time when “being green” has become the trendy norm, at Navitat, we desire more. We work to create a culture that is both knowledgeable and passionate about the places we get to call home, and in doing so, we find that conservation becomes a natural focus.
But how do we ensure we’re meeting our goals? We follow the leader!
Sarah Marcinko serves as Navitat’s Education and Conservation Director. A master’s level educated plant ecologist, Sarah works to maintain and even improve the health and sustainability of trees and forestlands entrusted to Navitat. From creating and implementing natural resource management plans for each tour site to training and educating our staff, Sarah leads the charge in ensuring Navitat raises the bar within our industry.
Navitat’s investment in a fulltime environmental leader for our company is a level of commitment you won’t find at any other zipline canopy tour company. We’re very proud of this distinction and, ultimately, we believe it makes all the difference in the world—in ways that really count!
Spend enough time in any one tree and you’ll quickly find yourself connecting. Really! We dare you to spend a day—or even an hour—in a tree and not walk away feeling that you’ve experienced something special. Creating ways to allow people to connect with trees is what we’re passionate about. Ultimately, ziplining from tree to tree just happens to be one of the main ways we’re able to accomplish this.
At Navitat, we care about conserving—and bettering—trees and the environment simply because it is the right thing to do. And because, the more you get to know trees and forests, the more you can’t imagine a world without them. It’s our job to protect the lands entrusted to us. How lucky we are to get to play even a small role in making a difference
