Children First/Communities in Schools is one of Asheville’s most important non-profit organizations. They support local children by empowering them to reach their full potential.
At Navitat, we believe that nature immersion is one of the BEST ways to learn more about yourself. We invited Children First/CIS to spend a day with us in the woods exploring our natural environment and learning all sorts of new and exciting things. The kids practiced everything from survival skills, to plant identification, to using nature for inspiration in art. We ended the day by planting two new trees on the Navitat property! The kids were AWESOME and of course we learned a few new things from them as well. It was a GREAT day all around!

Throughout the season, residents of the 33 easternmost counties in Tennessee who book Wednesday tours receive a 15-percent discount on the regular tour price. An ID showing proof of residency is required.
“We’re excited to be able to offer this special discount to our neighbors in East Tennessee,” said Abby Burt, Marketing Manager of NAVITAT CANOPY ADVENTURES. “We invite them to come join us for our exhilarating and educational canopy tour – whether they’re doing a quick day trip to the Asheville area, or spending a longer time exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina.”
NAVITAT specializes in high-adventure zip line canopy tours, with a heavy focus on educating guests about the natural environment, history and culture of the surrounding area. The tour showcases the breathtaking natural beauty of a 242-acre serene mountain cove, located just 20 minutes north of downtown Asheville. Located at the Wrightwood Guest Ranch, the Navitat Wrightwood tour will feature many of the same elements that have made our Asheville, NC tour famous. Adventure seekers will experience artfully constructed tree platforms connected by a series of suspended sky-bridges, zip lines, and rappels on a tour that is both thrilling and educational in nature. As our first season comes to a close, reviewing the media attention we’ve had is an amazing treat! Of course, we all love Navitat, and most of our guests have come to love it as well. But when respected members of the national media highlighted us (over and over again) in their publications and websites, it was an incredibly thrilling feeling! We’ve met some wonderful people as a result of the media attention, and look forward to meeting more, both in the few weeks we have left in this season, and next year.
Most recently, Navitat was featured in the New York Times Sunday travel section, in the article “36 Hours in Asheville,” where we were pegged as one of the city’s must-do activities. This national exposure, coupled with the buzz we received a few weeks ago from USA Today’s coverage, has exploded our customer base! We’re now getting calls from across the country as people plan to include Navitat in their upcoming travels.
